Background
The Department for Transport (DfT) is the government department responsible for the English transport network. The Government introduced Emergency Measures Agreements with all train operating companies, as a response to the COVID-19 outbreak. These suspended the normal financial mechanisms of franchise agreements.
The Requirement
DfT needed to secure the services of specialist financial advisers to support the negotiation of Emergency Direct Award rail contracts to replace existing rail franchises. The Department issued an Invitation to Tender on Crown Commercial Services’ Management Consultancy Framework, RM 3745.
Our Success
Bramble Hub and Grant Thornton won the contract with a team that had worked extensively with the DfT and which was experienced in all aspects of the requirements. The contract is for 2 years, extendable by 1 year.
