Public Health England chooses an open source Library Management System

Background
Public Health England is responsible for protecting and improving the nation’s health, preparing for public health emergencies and addressing issues such as substance abuse. PHE is a knowledge driven organisation and the Knowledge & Library Services team play an important role in this, capturing and storing knowledge, providing literature and evidence searching, enquiry, subscription and awareness services, online and from four sites across the country.
The Requirement
PHE wanted to extend access to their library subscription services and needed to update their Library Management System and looked on government’s G-Digital Marketplace G-Cloud catalogue for a suitable system and support service provider.
Our Success
PHH selected the open source Koha Library Management System, provided by Bramble Hub and our partner PTFS Europe. The order for configuration, data conversion, implementation, training and support was placed in November 2017 and will run for up to 4 years.
